Commander of Army Special Operations Command
RE: Flight #343 Hijacking
Thank you all for assisting with this emergency on such short notice. The situation is as follows:
A terrorist group has hijacked an Oceanic Airlines 747 plane en route to Washington, DC. The ringleader of the hijackers is Nagi Hassan, second-in-command to Abu Sayed Jaffa in a notorious terrorist organization.
Abu Sayed Jaffa has been abducted and is currently being held in England. Hassan is demanding his release in exchange for the safe return of the aircraft and its 400-plus American passengers.
On your desk, I have left various materials for you to review that can assist you in determining our best course of action in this situation. Please review the videotapes, aircraft manuals, dossiers, and maps carefully before bringing your decision to the Crisis Management Team.
In addition, Major David Grant has prepared a memo outlining his theory that Hassan's plan is to use the hijacked plane to attack the United States with lethal nerve gas -- an unconfirmed theory which could crucially affect the decision the Crisis Management Team must make.
Please review the information we have given you with due consideration. When you are ready to communicate your decision to the Crisis Management Team, please proceed to the Situation Room from your desk.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
General Sarlow
